Audio Post-production.

Bringing the best out of your source material.

"We'll fix it in post!", is a common trope in media post-production land. But why is that? Although creativity flourishes under constraints it knows no bounds. So you might not have the perfect angle, prisitine location or proper kit when recording something incredible in the moment. A plane might fly over while a couple is whispering. A generator might be harmoniously humming a couple of octaves, ranging from sub-sonic requencies to just below 200 Hz.

So saying "we'll fix it in post" is more of a hail mary - a question of can we save that moment.

The good news is we can. With the aid of a variety of tools and techniques such as de-clicking, de-clipping, de-crackling, de-essing, de-humming, de-plopping, de-reverberating, de-rustling, de-winding, manual or AI-assisted spectral editting and repair tools such as iZotope RX and Steinberg SpectraLayers.

Being a well-rounded audio mechanic means I can not only fix up sound when it has broken down by the side of the road, but I also have the know-how of building a solid sound from the ground up.

As a Dialogue Editor I assemble, arrange, synchronise and edit all the dialogue in a media production. Splicing speech from different takes to craft a perfect sentence - something akin to Vocal Comping. Crafting speech from different words in order to correct intelligebility - like a vowel that shouldn't have been swallowed.

In addition to processing the dialogue recorded on set I offer full-service ADR and Voice Over recording. This way we can maintain a high level of creative freedom and Quality Control.

"Early involvement and careful planning in addition to the foresight that comes from the experience of having nurtured more than 100 multidisciplinary productions, will allow us to execute a process that not only fulfils every creative ambition the director has, but does so affordably and punctually."

Sound Supervision is also a key aspect of maintaining a high quality sound throughout the post-production process.

As I like to envision sound for media holistically I believe great supervision starts from the beginning of the project. Early involvement and careful planning in addition to the foresight that comes from the experience of having nurtured more than 100 multidisciplinary productions, will allow us to execute a process that not only fulfills every creative ambition the director has, but does so affordably and punctually.

This minimizes issues early on. I’ll see the project through editorial, ensuring the editor has everything they need to ensure smooth transition forward. As sound post commences my aim becomes to bring the often disparate sonic elements together. Making use of these skills combined will save the production time and therefore money.

Your data is your most valuable asset in a media production. And it could also be that after the project has been delivered.

Data wrangler is easily one of the most underestimated roles in a media production. It requires in-depth knowledge of database management, data-storage and data flow optimisation. With experience in building libraries of material for many projects, clients and distributors - and also maintaining a daily growing active sound database of over 30000 sounds, I can deliver any material with the correct metadata to be incorporated into other media libraries, tools or distribution platforms.

Noordersound maintains an active relationship with several sound and music publishers.
