Setting the mood - music speaks to our souls. Depending on who you'd ask music production is an art of translating irrational math straight into feels, an awesome jamsession with your best mates, all of those or any combination of those things. Like it is to me.
With our wide array of in-house tools, instruments and know-how I can create the entire muscial landscape of your production and translate the vision you have into a finished musical masterpiece.
The sky is the limit.
Then you get into space and you make it chromatic, turn up the synths, reverb. Maybe add an organ...
Jokes aside, in today’s music-making world, the only rule is there are no rules. Record whatever you want and use it as a sample. Automate effects in ways never imagined before. Mix rhythms and genres to create beats and melodies that transcend previously established boundries into new realms all their own.
Music production covers every phase in the creation of a song from writing to the final master.
In general I mean it to be the process of developing, creating and refining recorded music for public presentation. It therefore can refer to the entire lifecycle of a piece of music — from songwriting and composition, to recording and sound design, to mixing and mastering.
I can define it as broad as I like, every workflow in modern music production has one thing in common and that is: digital tools. We all go into a DAW.
Thanks to today’s technology, music production is more accessible than ever before. For the lowest price in history any musician can set up a home studio and get started producing music.
As a music producer I can have several different roles depending on the genre of music and the type of workflow.
In the traditional recording process, a music producer acts in a similar way to the director of a film.
They create a vision for the material and advise the musicians artistically on how to realize it.
During a recording session the producer acts as a coordinator and provides organizational help. They also offer creative input and notes on the musicians’ delivery and the technical choices made by the audio-engineer.
But the term producer has come to mean other things in other genres. For instance, in R&B and hip-hop, the term producer most often refers to the person who created the beat. However, in EDM the words producer and artist are may be used interchangeably, with most artists producing their own material.
"As is with most things this day and age, waring different hats - working different jobs- is what earns you a living, but building relationships is what builds a career. No matter the hat I wear under the umbrella of music production my goal is to earn the trust of the person(s) I work with. "
As a media composer for film, tv and computer games my aim is to translate moving picture into emotional sounds. Going from frames per second to feels per second, if you will.
My cues are not my children. Change is inevitable. New insights can always and should always come to light. I've written a cue for one thing, saved it and ended up useing it somewhere totally different.
As is with most things this day and age, waring different hats - working different jobs- is what earns you a living, but building relationships is what builds a career. No matter the hat I wear under the umbrella of music production my goal is to earn the trust of the person(s) I work with. The trust that I will deliver something on par, on time.
